Size of online market ?
by ccoc May 9, 2006 9:02 AM PDT
Google is expected to have revenues of around $10 billion in 2006 but the article says Google will receive 25% of the $15.6 billion online market - something seems wrong with these statistics - even if you just take the non partner revenue figure for Google that's about $6 billion. Is the size of the overall online market being significantly underestimated ?

global versus US figures
by elinormills May 9, 2006 12:16 PM PDT
The 10 billion projection for 2005 is for Google's total global sales. The 25 percent of $15.6 billion is US ad market only. Last year, nearly 40 percent of its revenue was from international sales.

Speaking of ad-based start-ups, here's a site that is generating buzz for Ford Motor Company Ltd. and the Ford Escape Hybrid.

Site: http://www.escapepollution.com.

It's a very interesting concept.

less offensive ads?
by TV James August 15, 2006 8:32 AM PDT
So if I go to Cingular.com or Sheraton.com and click around for a little while before visiting MySpace, I'll get less offensive ads? Because I can't figure out how the ads are targeted to me, otherwise.
