ingenious marketing ploy

I don't believe for one moment the claim from VW that it possesses no knowledge of such compaign and the making of said commercial. Someone high up must've okay'ed it...

That's BS, VW Paid For the Ad
by January 30, 2005 2:25 PM PST
The filmmakers were not only paid for making the film, but they
had access to a brand- new Polo as well. Who else would throw
around the money to make something like this? Great marketing
ploy really, especially the denial part...

with the available graphics software (photoshop, coreldraw and various public domain) it is easy to see how images can be cut/pasted and changed. I would expect more of this to happen with many prominant companies, if not already and would not give too much credence to conspiracy theory, VW hidden agenda.
