Gator and Deceptive Marketing Tactics
by March 13, 2005 5:04 PM PST
I honestly think that Gator's marketing tactics are deceptive and evil. As a computer-savvy user, I am more aware of these things than my family. Also, this raises the question, is it legal for one user of a PC to suffer because ANOTHER "agreed - I use this term VERY loosely" to install an application? Should this even be legal? Also, I have heard reports of users not being able to uninstall Gator, and that even though Gator Claims that Add/Remove Programs Works, it actually tries to restart Gator/GAIN.

I hate it when companies try to get you to DL via ActiveX pop-ups or Actions. It is to the point on the net today that I have totally banned ALL ActiveX Downloads on Both of my PC's. Also, It's to the point where I don't trust most "free" software, there is always a high possiblity of getting Gator's CRAPWARE. I recommend to all of you to disable ActiveX downloads. For instructions, visit my website, www.rusnakweb.com. Also, to Gator --- You Guys Make Me Sick!!! People like you give software a bad name. I guess anything goes for money these days...

It's all going to hell in a handbasket...
