Software producers can set their terms but they need to make it clear

Hi,

I think that the makers of "free" software should be able to specify their own terms but they need to make it clear when the user install the software exactly what they are going to have to put up with in return for using the software. Just as you need to make the price of paid software absolutly clear so should you have to for software that is being paid for by your time and frustration.
