Why would I even bother with this when I can go to Hulu?

"But Bewkes downplayed this concern saying that paid TV subscribership has increased every year for the last 30 years and that he doesn't see this trend slowing anytime soon."

Well, as long as they keep the bit caps in place, he might be right. But this is typical spin. If I could get the quality of my cable subscription over the internet I'd drop cable in a heart beat.

Hmmm, lets see about this. My experiences with both companies in the last 2 years lead me to believe that this will flop like a lead balloon. Maybe their focus should be on bandwidth bottlenecks.

This is fine in the short term, but in the long term both of these companies need to realize that their core business, just like the phone companies, will be as ISPs. Their existing business models will not last much longer and if they cannot adapt and transform themselves to fit the new market they will be replaced by new companies who can.

I don't understand why can't they set up a site like netflix for people who don't want a bunch of cable channels? The Cable or Studios can do it, They all own each other in someway! Why can't they have paid version of hulu? It seems to be working for netflix.
please let me know if I'm wrong?

CBS should be streamed directly from CBS. Cut out all of the middle men. No need for Hulu or Comcast (other than their broadband). The network channels should offer direct feeds. Heck the "cable" channels could even charge a tiny fee. Want the Science Channel? $2.00 per month. Want NBC? its free with comercials. It would be the first time I would be able to get ONLY the channels I want. What do I want from Comcast? High quality, high reliability, high bandwidth ISP at a competitive price.

With eye to the future, try raw photos today

Raw photos are a hassle compared to JPEG. But if you like photography, the list of their image quality advantages is long and getting longer.
