Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.

Does anyone have the numbers for users of WinMCE for watching over-the-air broadcast television? And if possible a link or citation to back it up?
Great anyway, that is what completes my home entertainment PC...
I installed it and will uninstall it as soon as I figure out how. What a stupid decision to release it without passing the ratings to our parental control settings in Media Center. I am mad at Netflix as I have waited for this long to reach the TV DVDs with kids content, yet I cannot manage this content the way I manage the rest of the content in Media Center.
I've been using Netflix download now for two years in a browser on WinXP. It works fine. What does being in Media Center add? Can the MCE application record the download for later viewing? That would be a useful addition - being able to stream at non-peak times and interrupt viewing and return later. Oh, yeah, right, that's what mailed DVD's are for!
It appears the only functional gain from this "innovation" is the appearance of the Netflix logo among the many available add-in subscriptions already there. In other words, a marketing move, not a technology move.
BTW, to use netflix' watch instantly feature with Windows 7 you need to install the Microsoft Silverlight player and then go to this web page and opt-in to using Silverlight as your media player in netflix.
