Yet more evidence of how completely useless the police are in this country - no training, no intelligence, no integrity, and sure as hell no concern for the people they're supposed to serve and protect. Better to deal with issues yourself than to rely on a force that's more concerned with falsifying records, accepting bribes, issuing spurious tickets, and having the "justice" department cover their *****.

I don't know if anyone missed this, but it is blatantly oblivious to me ... why aren't there enough black cops (Isn't Oakland a black community?)?

Another question ... why don't enough blacks seek a position in law enforcement (especially in a black community)?

Color me ignorant.

If Mehserle can't tell the difference between a taser and a firearm he should have never been a police officer in the first place! How the hell did this guy ever get a badge? His "mistake", if that's what it really was, cost a young man his life. And now there is a little girl who will spend the rest of her life without her father. The way that entire incident was handled by the police is completely inexcusable and sad. Just goes to show what happens when you give some people a badge and a gun.

How about this:

You don't run from a cop and/or resist arrest. That's about as basic as it gets. You'll always lose if you do. If the guy wouldn't have resisted his arrest, there would have been no struggle and and he would still be alive today. What part am I not getting???
How about some taking at least some responsibility by the victim's family instead of blaming it all on the cop?

Here's the part you aren't getting. Resisting arrest, if that is indeed what he did, is not a capital offense in this country. How dare you insinuate that an on-the-spot death sentence is justified. Have you even SEEN the video?

Watch the Video. Your statement ignores the facts!

Wow, you really are an idiot aren't you. Do you realize that you just claimed that "running from a cop and/or resisting arrest" is an offense that should be punishable with an immediate death sentence and without a trial? Hitler might have agreed with that, but few others would.

"That was pretty brutal, even by my standards."
