Here is what I wish to know. Why can't broadcasters display on that analog frequency, a screen that says "IF YOU SEE THIS SCREEN, YOU NEED A DIGITAL CONVERTOR BOX". Surely one cable isn't going to both analog and digital output to the tower? They have to be seperate no?

I have 5 digital broadcasters in my service area. When I switch my HDTV over to antenna (amplified rabbit ears) only 2 of the five broadcaster's channels are useable - the rest breakup constantly. And, of the two that have stable signals, one breaks up if you sit within 8 feet of the antenna, which is located above my head on a tall bookcase. This is another lobbiest financed, government fiasco, just like the Iraq war. Who would have thought that cable companies would end up heros?
