I don't understand what everyone's worried about regarding Yahoo and Google. Ballmer wants to f----ing kill google and it's obvious from IE8 betas how he intends to do it. The sole purpose of IE8 is to drive traffic to live.com. That's why they've actually got people working on IE again. By tying in Live.com to Windows, they will be able to take some market share from Google and Yahoo. If MS kills google, you can bet the internets will require windows.

internet didn't require windows, nor will it require, regardless of the existence of google. The deal may impact MS, nevertheless MS isn't the only one being effected, and there are so many others, such as ask.com. The ultimate concern is that it will definitely have a huge impact on the consumers.
