Before cnet was run by liberals but they never ever were anything but neutral. CBS is run by morons that are one sided. I hope they don't ruin this website.

CNET shouldn't = Politics
I already have to deal with movies punching in their $.02 about politics, do not need my favorite tech site doing the same. Besides, are you guys not located in San Francisco... doesn't that make you bias to begin with...;)

Also, I think this was the dumest pick that Obama could take. Let us see if McCain will do the same or be better. For an independent voter like, VP could help me swing one way or another.

What could be more appropriate in a Digital Media column than to report that a presidential "hopeful" has selected as his "running mate" a complete enemy of digital media rights? (or, how to make enemies of your existing camp of followers... way to go Obama)

I wonder if McCain will be any smarter... just more politics and business as usual.

Obama is 80% Arab in his blood line and that makes him not a african american like most think. Even his middle name is Husan he was raised under muslim religion.

what are you trying to imply by saying he was raised under Muslim religion (do you even know the name of that religion). I mean come on dude read about it a little bit before you start giving a negative impression of it. Yes, his name is Hussain not HUSAN stupid!!!

I am a first time voter, and a total geek its excited and an honor to vote for a man who has a background just like me, not very rich and standing for things he believes in. I think it is exciting time for whole United States and the technology world because he is the one who has made a huge progress using technology and websites. Also, as he announced his running mate by sending a text message, this implies technology. So why not, have an article on Barack/Biden right here at CNET. I think everybody who is talking smack should shut their pie holes because if you don't want to read STUPID you know don't click on it common sense right? Everybody should be excited because Barack will bring the change, he will end the OLD REPUBLICAN Politics of causing fear in people by the names, ethnicity and looks. American people have gotten way smarter than that; well that's what I thought before I started reading some of the comments here and I can see how narrow minded these people are. I am an immigrant who is a United States Citizen which I am proud of; just want to tell you there is nothing wrong with being Muslim, Black or having a different name. ?What we have to do... is to find a way to celebrate our diversity and debate our differences without fracturing our communities.? WHO ELSE BUT HILLARY!!!

This was a great choice for Obama. Biden brings much experience, great knowledge of national security and foreign policy, and overall was the best choice. For you Hilary lovers who don't like this, you'll have to get used to it. If you vote McCain then it shows that you were never a true Democrat to begin with, just someone who liked Hilary.

Sorry CBS, this is a tech site. If it starts throwing anything else into the mix, I'll go to pure tech sites for my info. I'll get my political info from political sites and the news from news sites.

Wow, Cnet posts one story about Barack Obama, and you Right-Wing nerds have a conniption fit. Chill the hell out.

Listen I'm a long-time reader of Cnet, for close to a decade, and this is the first time I've ever felt compelled to register and post a comment. I find it so absurd and unnecessary for cnet to step into the political arena with articles like this. I love Obama and will absolutley vote for him in November, but come on... this is a tech news site. Politics coverage dominates so much of everything else I read and watch, frankly it was refreshing to come here and just find headlines about gadgets, computers, and the like.

When I see an article like this, so out of place amid all the normal tech news, well it feels like someone is trying to subtly press their personal views on me. I might agree with those views, but honestly cnet, I don't care what you have to say about Obama or Biden or anything remotely political. The fact that this had to be filed under "digital media", for lack of any other place to put it, illustrates how far you've strayed from your core competencies.

I didn't make a peep when I saw earlier articles about Obama's candidacy -- this is not the first -- but come on now, this is getting ridiculous. Hope the cnet crew cleans up their act and sticks to tech news, or it's really not worth my time coming here anymore. I'm not mad... I'm just... disappointed in you, cnet.

Did you notice how fast CBS news fired the one right leaning editor of CNET once they bought it? And he was BLACK! Racism, or just plain Republican witch hunting?

What is laughable is they opened themselves up to sexist attacks. They had the ideal female running mate and discarded her?

Now the Repubs make a brilliant and obvious move picking a bulldog of a woman to make mincemeat out of the so-called liberals that are really a sexist ol'boy party.

says it all. Obama should be a fama.
