Gee, this ought to be really helpful, much like IBM was so helpful to Nazi Germany in keeping the inventory of Jews to be exterminated in WWII.

c|net should follow the money here, and get to the bottom of how IBM is going to profit from baby boomer retirement. If there were no profit in it, IBM wouldn't be doing it.

"Outsource" tech customer support to the tech baby boom generation

For the retiring baby boom generation in the tech fields, I think the new opportunity will be to give them the customer support jobs we off shored! Baby boomers will still need to work at least part time and ideally from home and will accept lower pay as long as there are reasonable benefits as well. Since the US political leadership will never address the Health Care issues around the massive burden the "retirement" of the babyboom generation will have on our health care system.
If IBM can help define a private sector solution to providing part time work with health benefits (but with lower pay) to my generation, more power to them!
