This is an important issue.

The big computer companies ought to get together and find a way to offer a bit of compensation for those of us who help the non-tech savvy implement and use their products on a day to day basis.
How about a "Family Computer Pro" discount card, or something like that?

This is the first time I have heard this idea. I wonder if some forward-thinking company would pursue something like this. Ed, perhaps this may be an idea for a story. I think this idea would be easily pitchable to a company - give a good faith (like 10%) discount to techies (i.e. proof of employment in tech field), who usually buy a lot of tech equipment (and would probably buy more from a specific company if they had a discount), and the company would receive great PR and free advertising from their Family PC Pros when they fix relatives' issues.
