What ebay and paypal are doing is against federal laws. By only letting you accept or pay by paypal is a monopoly. They will end your listings if you indicate you will accept a money order, cashiers check or any other form of payment other than paypal which ebay owns. They want to squeeze every cent they can out of your transactions. Is there somewhere I can sign up to be in a class action law suite. I have lost potential buyers because ebay will not let me say I accept money orders. Frank

I am very interested in this lawsuit from a buyer's perspective. 3 days ago, I purchased an item in an ebay auction. I did not have the option of using a mastercard or visa, either of which provide a high level of protection for both buyer and seller. To date, I have not heard a single word, email or otherwise, from the seller. My funds have already been transferred via paypal. I have already instigated a complaint against the seller on paypal.com. The monopoly strangle-hold paypal has on ebay must be broken. I will update this thread if and when anything else happens regarding this transaction. mj-n-texas.

How may I join the class? When a buyer files a dispute, no matter how ridiculous, Paypal puts the money paid on hold, which for me, created a negative account, which I had not the funds to cover. I note in my Ebay page that my shipments of coins take 7-10 days because my postmaster insists all insured coins must go by Registered Mail which is glacially slow .As long as my account was negative I could not pay for anything---for 3 days. What a hassle!!!
Paypal lacks basic concepts of fairness; no presumption of innocence, guilty till proved innocent, lack of fair response----the instant a dispute closes, the respondant cannot even access the dispute to make a closing statement. Ebay and Paypal are begging for oversight and it appears we have just the government to provide it.

That's not always true... I iniated a complaint against a seller who was making unauthorized transactions out of my account. (Paypal) PayPal emailed me back and said forget it we aren't refunding your money!! I called PayPal and the guy on the phone told me I was SOL... I said fine I'll just contact my bank to disput the charges and his tune changed very quickly. He said well I can do a system over ride and have your account fixed within 5 business days. I said no thanks I will go to my bank because they will fix it and then when it's all said and done the account will be closed so you guys can never touch it again. They really tried to tell me they were going to freeze me for 50 days because a website was doing unathorized transactions. I am just thankful I use the bank I use because they are a force to be reckoned with...

We are yet another victim looking for assistance in fighting PayPal's abusive policies. Just yesterday our account was closed due to "credit reasons". We currently have $19000 in our PayPal account. Their policy to hold funds for 180 days will surely jeopardize our ability to stay in business. The hardest part of this whole situation is that we have done absolutely NOTHING wrong. Product was ordered, subsequently shipping in condition described (which was BRAND NEW by the way) , and 100% positive feedback is where we currently stand with eBay. We owe our suppliers! We have 30 day net terms with these people. After 2 years of building our business, we decided to add eBay as an additional channel for sales. Now, after 60 days of perfect performance they have frozen our account and have created a cash flow situation that may put us under. If ANYBODY out there can assist us or join us in fighting this please contact me at the email below. All "terms of service" aside, this just is not right and something needs to be done.

Thanks to all in advance.

PayPal is ripping me off also I sold a website to a lady she paid I gave all info to her and she changed passwords like she should have but then she turned around and did a reversal on the payment did not state to PayPal why or any thing, I gave PayPal the proof that she got my site, they stated they were doing an investigation, BUT I know they did not because they refunded the money to her some one that did not even have a reason for the reversal. she has my website and the money and I'm -$70. in my PayPal account, as of today I got a letter from PayPal that the $70 has gone to a collection agency I do know I will fight this and no its not the $70 that is nothing, but its the fact that they lied and stated they did an investigation and ALLOWED someone to steel from me and this is not the first time PayPal has Allowed this, but it is the last time with me, I'm saving all info i can get. if this $70 hurts my credit any. I will go after them not just for the $70 but for punitive damages also and I know some one else that will join in on the lawsuit with me because that person has been ripped off by PayPal also. I think every one on here should get together and start one great big lawsuit against PayPal

I was just shut down today by PayPal for un explained reasons. They said my account was a risk and no longer wanted to do business with me... Hmmm I wonder if the complaint to the OCC had anything to do with it? Morgon Chase bank was envolved in the complaint process from the office of the currency controller,,, PayPal was mad and said they still would not honor a claim (I had laptop and credit card stolen and was used to make charges but paypal would not honor the Disputed calim and called them authorized) anyway now my funds of 2,000.00 are frozen 180days oor untill december, Plus PayPal rep said they would contact customers and offer them a refund of my money (a part of their user agreement) if the customers say they are not satisfied they will withdraw and give to them. Kiss that money goodby. PayPal is a huge svasm and should be regulated just like a bank. Instead they make their own rules and do what they want to who they want. Now they say i am a risk? but my feed back is a perfect 100 .. they say i am a risk, but dont like it because i turned them in... Went to the BBB and wven the BBB said they could not believe sone of the response that they have been getting about paypal of a lately... If i had the money, i would see about them being chrged with theft of funds, It should be aq criminal charge not civil for wht they do to people.

Sounds very familiar I've dealt with Paypal for years, one of my first experiences I filed a legitimate complaint and was immediately shut-down with no reason, didn't want my business. Need a Lawyer so I can get my money back....

If you wish to hit PayPal where it counts, then go to the PayPal website and click ABOUT US,,,, find your state and complain to the department listed. This is the satates that license paypal, and they have the athority to stop paypal frme harming more people, and running out of control. If we act together, and write thes people we can make a difference. PayPal limits accounts and steals money from many innocent people under the guise of their operating procedure,,, what we as the harmed individuals is to attack back at the only true controling point... This and a follow up to the state attorney general will get a result... But only if everyone works on the same path with the same diligence.

This is what mine says....

That the financial responsibility, financial condition, business experience, character, and general fitness of the applicant and its management are such as to justify the confidence of the public and that the applicant is fit, willing, and able to carry on the proposed business in a lawful and fair manner.

My butt!!!! There is nothing fair about them and they surely do not have the confidence of the public!! I'll be filing shortly after I run to my bank.
