Inaccurate Statement
by gdmaclew October 24, 2006 10:21 AM PDT
For e-mailing photos, Microsoft added an ability to easily scale down the photo to a more manageable size, a feature that was part of the Mac OS, but lacking in Windows XP.

Not true...get your facts straight. Check it out before you say it.

Third Person to Point This Out
by markdoiron October 24, 2006 1:39 PM PDT
You're the third person to point that out. I don't say that to condemn it. But, each time I wondered: I've seen (and routinely ignored) the option to shrink an image before e-mailing it, but is that a part of the Windows OS, or is it a part of Outlook? If the latter, then the article should say that MS is moving this functionality from Office to the OS, where it can support all e-mail clients. Right?

Google Picasa is superior...
by alenas October 24, 2006 2:54 PM PDT
I think microsoft should have looked at Google Picasa first. This free tool is much more superior in all respects to Windows Photo Galery.

They can't add more functionality even if they want to..
by stoic October 25, 2006 2:50 PM PDT
...because other companies will cry foul. Monopoly issue remember? If they add more feature, many complain. If they strip it down, many complain. Oh well.
Nothing like iPhoto, right!

That's also why I hate iPhoto
by toosday October 24, 2006 5:26 PM PDT
This is exactly why I hate iPhoto. I dunno about the 2006 (I use 2005)version, but as soon as I plug in my camera iPhoto pops up and says, "Hey, you wanna import ALL of these photos?"

I am always forced to use Image Capture to get my photos off of my camera.

This feature sucks and should go away very soon.

Hey buddy. Next time you're in the Image Capture application, try
opening up its preferences for a little surprise.

It's obvious the people who criticize MS are Mac users...
by whizkid454 October 25, 2006 12:36 PM PDT
They just like it better. Thats their choice. Now for you users: STOP MAKING MICROSOFT LOOK BAD JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE HOW THEY MADE A COUPLE LITTLE "DIFFERENCES" ON THEIR PROGRAMS AND YOU JUST ARE OBSESSED WITH MACS BEING THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED!!!

If true then why do most Mac users have no problem with Linux
by slim-1 October 25, 2006 12:50 PM PDT
Not heard a single Mac user attach Linux.

This why most Linux user won't attack Mac either.

On the other hand Bill Gates started the war against Linux.

Microsoft is doing a good enough job on it's own attacking themselves and making themselves look bad.

When it comes to graphics and videos, yes, nothing does it better
than a Mac. I loved (note past tense) my Windows 10 years till I
finally (just out of curiosity) gave the Mac a try. My jaw still has a
tendency to fall open while using my Mac :-) and yes, once you go
Mac, you never look back..
I'm not a Mac user.
by gernblan October 26, 2006 5:26 PM PDT
I'm a windows user, one who is disgusted at what Microsoft is becoming.

I, for one, do not wanting Microsoft looking at my pictures, because they are personal to me. Yet, in their new EULA, they have the right to do so.

No thanks, as an American, I'd rather have my privacy than to allow some corporation to control my property and invade my privacy.

Vista may be beating Linux.
The general meme curve for Linux is now downward.
