The Next Step...
by zaznet July 27, 2005 11:10 PM PDT
OK you are all going to be real upset when you learn what's next. The next step will be the much anticipated and dreaded renewal fees. You will buy a new computer, set it up and have 30 days use before you have to BUY it again. Sure it won't be 30 days at first, more likely 1 to 2 years.

With the OS cost going up while hardware goes down it will soon be the norm to throw away an entire computer because the software license expired after 1 year.

Microsoft's Future
by zaznet July 28, 2005 1:00 AM PDT
They just have not realized that the Operating System market that they practically invented is going away. Their monopoly in this market has been their biggest advantage in the online services and other software sectors.

Microsoft has been able to diversify and grab large market share in non OS dependant markets. However their continued growth has been bullied by their dominant OS. They have literraly been able to smother competition through the use of their OS leverage. If they lose this advantage it's going to be a very interesting fight for their continued survival.

MS will not respond.

I am a victim of a bogus validation code number that I purchased from one of thier authorized OEM computer builders.

I have provided them with everything they asked for, Company name, address, sales reciept, time, date, original sales reciept, even advertisments. Including digital pictures of the boot disk.

That has been three months ago when they announced thier "Amnesty" program. The only response I have is that the program was not yet in process.

MicroSoft have not performed to thier promise.

The actually have the nerve to set how many times thier products can be installed...I have a home network and kids..In my case that equals VIRUSES and other problems and resulted in having to install Windows XP enough to where it can't be re-installed again from the OEM Disk that cme with my compaq computer...I can instal from the disk, but it won't activate...I got the crappy restore disks to work and Now Have Acronis Trueimage running on
my system...reboot,activate acronis and 15 minutes and my system is factory fresh again....with all my games and added software also...Hicrosoft is just money hungury...pure and simple..
I called them About this and wanna know what they said ...Sorry sir, you'll have to buy another copy of Windows XP because we can re-instate your cd-key
do to excessive installs...Like hell...Found my way out...

And as for the add ons......well ever here of E-mule????

IE V.7.0 Browser
by Starryid1 January 22, 2007 11:46 PM PST
Microsoft has got to be kidding about their NEWEST ADDITION TO THEIR FAMILY: IE 7.0!! I downloaded ie 7.0 on November 11/06 to my new computer that I'd only had for 1 month! Because of 7.0, I ended up having to take my pc to a shop (as I couldn't fix it) where the man only charged me $35. as he couldn't fix it either. It had to be wiped; the hard drive. He ran system checks, and all sorts of things. No go. It seems that as soon as I re-booted my pc after the install of 7.0 that was the beginning of the end! I had to phone the co. where I purchased my pc and get them to mail me out my XP disc so I could have it fixed. I needed to bkup my files and didn't have the program to do it.
But bk to 7.0. That #^&*%^* thing they want to call a browser caused me only 2 wks. of grief. It caused a guy I know bk east (his pc, only 1 mo.old) did the same thing. A girlfried of mine had it much worse. She tried to uninstall progs and re-install them. That apparently only made it worse. As you know, with ie 6 all it's files weave their way through every file just about, that goes on the computer. And each and every program that you install after putting good ol' 7.0 on your pc, well...they get corrupted too. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that it corrupted most of my important files and programs on my pc? Even my printer and my camera and camera docker and printer. It seems that if you install programs after you install 7.0 YOU'RE SCREWED! What a mess.
So all I have to say about 7.0 is that in the 17 yrs. I've been using computers, I've never been so duped in my entire life. It's terrible. The worst program I've ever used. And if ppl are reading this and are thinking to themselves "well..there's nothing wrong with my pc". Trust me on my grandson's life, your files will corrupt. Especially gets worse the longer it's on. Starts freezing....a lot, then crashing! Lot's of fun.
From me to all who read this: BEWARE OF 7.0 IT'S BUGGED WORSE THAN IF IT HAD A FULL BLOWN VIRUS.

I have have mixed results....

I was funny, I thought I had read that for the first time Internet Explorer would be un-installable...It is, but only if you want to make whatever problem you decided to un-install it for in the first place, WORSE!

I had some clients, when Microsoft was initially forcing the upgrade via a security update....rather than now in its currently optional status, that installed it to find a completely frustrating IE experience.
Geez they locked all kinds of configurations. I want 1 or 2 bars, so I can see as much of a webpage as possible. But they have so much of the toolbar locked down. IE 6 was much better in that department!

Trying to uninstall IE7 back to IE6 left the desktop with many many GHOST icons. This experience repeated on multiple systems... For existing as well as some new desktop bookmarks files they just ceased to be a "known file" to windows? Also i was getting freezes and lock-ups, while opening things with Active X or PDF embeds... Finally I just shut off ADOBE products/macromedia etcetera as they seemed to be not updated yet for I.E. 7 code.

Me personally I went back to Firefox....much happier unless I have to use Active X.
