- Geninue Microsoft update
- by greybeard43 August 6, 2006 11:55 AM PDT
- I purchased a computer with XP loaded and did not get any software. As I understand this dealers has a license to sell multilple copies based on the dealers license. I could be wrong on exactly how this process works but this is how I understand the process. My problem is that I purchased the XP computer about 1 year ago and recently experienced the message not geninue microsoft software. I returned the computer to the dealer and he authenticated it and informed me the charge for that is $150. Is this the protocol for this process. I feel like I am being ripped off as the computer should have only had authentic software loaded on it when it was purchased?
