Sun starts another war?

This time, it is not M$ anymore, but HP.
Good job! Sun.
Keeps fighting with somebody. Sun is going to lose at the end.

History has proven you wrong

Clearly, history has proven you wrong. Microsoft settled with Sun for the tune of several billion $$ and now they're working on collaborative software that'll make money for both companies. Sun didn't lose in the end.

In the case of HP, they're doomed. They make printers. Printers don't have the kind of profit potential that a big computer does. And HP doesn't make profitable computers anymore. They make Itanium systems that sell in the millions, even though they've been out for years. Sun sells SPARC, and it sells in the billions each fiscal
quarter. The Superdome systems aren't going to be around much longer once PA-RISC and HP-UX gets phased out.

It's sad... perhaps HP could start making VAX/VMS from their acquisition of Compaq/DEC. Either that or they can come up with a way to make color ink cartridges burn out faster.

Sun has never been a good citizen

It seems they like the taste of having their foot in their mouth. But they do provide lots of good copy for articles :).
The Smell Of Competition!

It is good to see such strong companies going in to a rival competition with each other. It brings their best of technology to market, even if it is at the cost of some childish pranks.
