"Microsoft hopes that its new Windows version will make it easy to manage clusters and to develop software for them. It also promises "a secure...platform with high performance and low total cost of ownership."

After seeing this my friend realized that they will just create a Windows client to admin the Linux cluster. That's the only way to get the TCO and high performance.

X-What?

I do not understand this agressive dislike of MS products. Microsoft has already proved that they can write a cut-down and stable version of Windows. It is called the X-Box. They have no need to use Linux.

And the LICENSE FEE???

Right, give M$'s fee structure can you imagine howmuch it will cost to LICENSE this dog??? Can you imagine what it would COST to run a 500 or 1000 node, setup??? It would be ASTRONOMICAL!!!

Now *YOU* are the business manager: Do you go with LINUX with almost a $0.00 cost associated with it or M$ and it ASTRONOMICAL LICENSE - then don't forget the number of WORMS that will infect your "supercomputer" and you end up with a very high cost" pile of scrap.
