Employees not as good as GPL'd UltraSPARK?
by Blito May 4, 2006 3:44 AM PDT
The UltraSPARk is under the GPL license so it promotes market competition through ownership rights of distribution and innovation. But apparently the employees are not.

"According to Sun's countersuit, "Azul developed products and product strategy based on Sun's innovation rather than its own. By hiring away key former Sun employees, Azul improperly accessed Sun's technology and plans, which enabled Azul to accelerate introduction of its products to market."

To me I wouldn't sign my inventiveness away to a company or; it should be illegal in a free market economy in America. People are allowed to quit and start another job if they want in this country.

pay your key employees acordingly and they will stay
by zolyfarkas January 17, 2007 6:48 AM PST
Reward the good ones, fire the poor ones(fast).
Big companies should start appreciating the good engineers and get rif of those rigid reward structures.
Don't start whining when your good engineers leave for a competitor. Pay them well and they will stay. (most of them at least).
