don't give the vultures at SCO and MS the power to sue people. this can only be bad for the computer industry. we would start seeing tactics similar to those employed by the music industry.

I always thought the EU was more level-headed than the US government, but this new directive is outright ridiculious. Didn't the EU just refuse a directive enforcing software patents last month? IP and software patents go hand in hand. So why would they approve such a law now? Also, the penalties are outrageous. A single infringement could destroy most new start-ups which rely on lower cost open source software. It is a completely unfair and un reasonable measure.
