If now Adobe bought Macromedia, this means its site will load faster? Im a great Adobe fan but, the Adobe Exchange site, is slow like a turtle!

I've beer-farted websites that worked better than the camel feces that comes out of that POS.

... that Adobe is smart enough to leave the MX suite alone and not try to taint it by association with its own convoluted user-unfriendly GoLive. One thing we can be sure of -- whatever they do with it, they'll charge too much.

To put this into perspective...

This acquisition is to designers as what Microsoft buying Apple would be like to the computing world in general. (Although Macromedia has a larger installed base by comparison the idea of it is the same.) It sucks.

I am discouraged by this awful news. Too bad users aren't given a vote in these things, but that's business. Investors are only looking at their bottom line, so the extensive, world-wide Macromedia user community is getting the short end of the stick.

I hate the idea of Adobe and Macromedia converging...my concern is that the quality of Flash MX 2004 Professional will be compromised instead of expanded, as I'd hoped.

It scares me to wonder what hacking Adobe will do to the Macromedia Suite of development products. I also think most Adobe products are overpriced, which means that all new versions of Macromedia products will also undergo enormous price increases. Even worse, Adobe products are extremely user-UNfriendly.

And, just for the record, I really like Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Who cares?

Macromedia designed toys like Flash. Sure it is a fun toy, but the death of flash wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Maybe they won't change Macromedia products, maybe they will make them better, maybe they will ruin it. In the end, will it really matter that much?

You are correct. Adobe has some pretty decent Mac products, mostly purchased from other companies. Their PC products are crap.
