bad sign for the merger

It seems to me that alienating the workers you are keeping won't help the merger in any way. In fact peoplesoft customers can now rightly question the quality and length of any future support for their software. If I were a peoplesoft customer I would tell my IT people to start shopping for alternatives ASAP. As far as the employees that remain I would expect resentment to be high and productivity to be low.
For such a successful company this strikes me as an incredibly stupid move by Oracle.

Culture of the place

A saying I heard from friends at the company:

The contempt the company has for its employees is exceeded only by the contempt it has for its customers.

A sad day for anyone associated with PeopleSoft (customers or employees).
