$590,000 per employee....
by April 2, 2004 8:41 AM PST
1.95 Billion = 3300 laid off - so, 590K per employee, regardless if over 10 years...Gateway is shutting it stores, Best Buys is going to stop selling computers...and they say that tech jobs are improving...who is hiring? Microsoft? Intel? Why don't we just allow Microsoft and Intel to merge and get it over with. Then we can all just roll over and die...versus taking the money and investing it in your people, versus laying them off, and try to come up with better products, services and technologies for the future, or do you plan to sell out to Bill G later on anyway. What is the executive bonuses to be paid out from this? I can't wait to read next years SEC filings to see...I think it is typical corporate b.s...

Who needs SUN ?

Sun mostly focused on making big mouth comments about their rivals instead on focusion on running the company. They say they are PRO open source, however their behaviour around Java tells you the truth. They wish to be a player like MS, but didn't have the skill and brains to do so. We have Linux and Windows, so who needs Sun? I rather see Apple stay in business than SUN. They have only an image as a bigmouth corporation. Better they split the cash among their staff now and shut the shop.
Typical employee BS

The union mentality pervades the native US and European workforce and will continue to guide the Western economy into collapse. The Western economy is nothing more than a fictional bubble. The DOJ investigation and 9-11 incited market crashes brought a dose of reality home to Americans and Europeans - unfortunately it has not been a lasting impression.
