(5 Comments)Some time ago I thought about such application, let me say what I think.
I think you can think of it (player) as a web browser. Applications will be like web pages (html+JS or flash) as they said, But they can be installed on client side application (browser) and can interact with the server. Good thing is that virtually every web programmer can create an application for apollo. When you compare languages like java to html or flash you findout the fundamental different. I think apollo will bring the html based applications to client side.
