Where can we find these consumers?

This sounds great, but where can we find these users? 90 of the
thousands I have supported over the years lock themselves out
the day after changing their password because "I forgot what I
changed it to".

They are also the ones that save every email they ever received
and call the help desk when they are unable to find it.

If "We stand at the foot of a new high tide," it's very likely to be
brown and smell bad.

That is a very good question:

I work for a VAR which provides services to small businesses and many of my clients have a hard enough time finding people who can simply find the start button on windows, this includes an inordinate number of people under the age of 30. I often wonder where Gartner finds it's anylist.
As the recent saying goes...

You can never make anything idiot proof because they keep coming
up with better idiots. How true, how true.

I smell something fishy from Gartner. Just a few years ago Gartner was hyping Web Services. Now it's back to scripting or Ajax. What's it going to be next Gartner, mainframes and minis? LOL.

Or, IT can dictate to employees what to use, as usual
by technewsjunkie October 10, 2006 10:49 AM PDT
I don't see this.

Practical examples please. Since when have companies, IT
departments in particular been sympathetic to users. Their mindset
is that users are the Enemy!
