"Let Google make the network computer now," Ellison said, a reference to the Google PC rumor that circulated last week at the Consumer Electronics Show. "They're young and foolish."

At least Google has an excuse. When Ellison made that mistake he was old and foolish.

So Sun is "giving away" a one year license of Oracle. Woopie. Most customers buy ELA, perpetual or 5 year. This is a win-win marketing ploy by Sun and Oracle to put Oracle on the worst performing microprocessor in the market and drive up license revenue for Oracle.
