With all the talk surrounding the PC vs Mac V Linux (possibly v Unix as well), the only OS's in history to not be involved in virus-talk are the ones that the Commodore 64, Commodore Amiga and Atari ST used. Hah. That's right. Viruses only really became an issue when the internet became a commercial phenomenon. I say, let's blame the 'net and not the OS's. Plus, there have been reports of Microsoft placing competitive AV/Spyware programs on their Virus Defeinition lists from a couple of years ago.
Let's stop the bickering about who has best OS and get on with eradicating the world of Viruses. AND the fake AV programs with them.

Another reason why I stay away from internet exploit, err, I mean Internet explorer. I have always used firefox, and always will. It's safer.

This exact virus was on our computer today ehen we booted up after a 3 day vacation.We could not get out of it no matter what we did; it literally hijacked us! $79.99 FOR LIFE TIME COVERAGE to protect us from all the viruses suddenly on our computer once cleaned. The applications already installed could not be utilized.We could go no where but to buy the anti virus program. It does look like the microsoft product!
I reported it to the FBI;
tomorrow we'll call the bank about the debit card scam;
emails and phone calls to the alledged company were not returned of course.
