CNET scoops the story on the web!?!
by Razzl October 4, 2004 8:28 AM PDT
It's pathetic that after the millions the news networks have spent on covering the space program over the years none of them even bothered to cover this exciting story even after it captured the public imagination last week. As near as I can tell CNET is the first web news organization that reported the successful flight (your story was posted 4 minutes before CNN.com's). Thanks for caring, and congratulations on your scoop!

Thanks to Microsoft Money

I'd just like to point out that the financial backing for the worlds first private supersonic spacecraft came from the profits made selling copyrighted software. In addition, the technologies created for SpaceShipOne are copyrighted trade secrets, and will be licensed to generate even more profit. I see no way OpenSource software could provide the same level of resources to set so many records or break the barriers to private space flight. At least... it hasn't. Capitalism rules.

Imagine that... Microsoft and Windows are the source of funding for the most anticipated aerospace breakthroughs of the century.

The documentary on the Discovery channel last night was excellent. I was a little surprised to hear Rutan congratulate Paul Allen... but I suppose technically, it's Paul's ship. Wow... what an amazing effort... around 20 people, and $20 million. Superb efforts.
Oh boy
