Intel essential just takes 2 core duos and will combine them to make the quad, without new architecture, with more energy

I agree it is not true quad, regardless of the fact that they may have their product to market first I will wait for the quality product.
Bench Mark Derbie

Inte Core 2 Duo, drubbed AMD Athlon 64 FX Dual cores. Intel wants to take advantage of the situation and probably trying to respond to the quick 4 X 4 strategy which is assembled by AMD to counter Core 2 Duo.

I suspect all this two dual core quads is just a PR to get those raving reviews on Anandtech and tom's hardware and may quite well starngle AMD in the Benchmark rat-race (which is very appealing for the High-end gamers, whose were the AMD fanboys because of its benchmark results till Core 2 Duo was out).

Intel is attacking AMDs percieved strenghts. The Benchmark Derbie kept AMD hip for sometime now, they just want to strip that out of AMD for long time to come.
I agree with Y-Poodle - until Intel delivers quad core - its a paper launch

They have had several paper launches over the years to steal AMD's thunder.
