Seems SUN is rising up again
by pokiri August 31, 2006 6:22 PM PDT
Recent IDC, Gartner reports show SUN gained market share and pushed Dell to 4th spot. And SUN was the only one to grow the server revenue share, where as IBM, HP, Dell etc declined. It
seems their UltraSparc-IV+ and Niagara servers are catching up very well. Jumping into AMD x64 ring was a very good move for them.

Wasn't this the company that was written off as irrelavant ( many times in life span ) ? Amazging ...

The Gartner report is year to year growth, so they grew from same quarter last year to this year. That doesn't mean they grew from last quarter to this one. Not exactly the same thing.
