AMD vs Intel always interesting

Even with AMD2 and Hypertransport 3.0 AMD won't be able to keep up with Intel's new Conroe.

AMD has had a nice run but it looks like it is Intels turn to take the lead with their new core.

A agree that AMD is going to make some significant improvements to their core, but it will be a bit before they take back the lead again.

With that said I must say I find the AMD vs Intel battle constantly amusing.

I don't think there are many other rival companies where the competition is as good or as fast paced.

Read carefully! AM2 is different from K8L!

This article is about K8L. AM2 is a platform not a chip architecture! You should be comparing K8L to Conroe, and Conroe is 20% faster than K8, AMD's last generation chips. Get your reading straight, K8L will have HT 3.0, NOT AM2. Once again, Intel is beaten to the ground. Poor "Core 2 XXXX" wouldn't last half a year.

Here we go with the ***-for-tat crap that we watch in the video card wars. "A" does 2...."B" does 4..."A" does - blah - blah - blah......

When will somebody grow a pair and REALLY jump the competition......like a 16 core chip or even 256 core?

Today's company one-upmanship is there just to boost sales. That's why nobody REALLY pushes the envelope of what's possible....it's less profitable than selling you chips in steps.
