Dumb Idea! Chips have to talk through FSB
by fred dunn July 20, 2006 7:32 AM PDT
Having to dual core chips in the same package is no different than having two dual core chips in a system, they are going to have to communicate with each other through the front side bus which means major delays for the whole system.
The ideal situation is to have an intenal bus that performs arbitration between ALL the cores and their associated cache.
This is just a workaround and a weak one at that just so Intel can say they were first to market, bad idea.
