Free pass to violate patents?
by baswwe March 7, 2006 12:55 PM PST
Thats what this sounds like to me:

Injunctions occur when you don't want to pay for the patent you are violating.

" Patent law must be reformed, he said. Intel is currently championing a change in the law that would prevent some patent litigants from obtaining an injunction. If a plaintiff obtained a patent against Intel, it could completely freeze up the PC industry, Otellini said."

Payoff for infringment
by Finger78 March 8, 2006 7:44 AM PST
Intel only wants to change the patent laws so when they DO infrige on another patent they dont have to stop production on thier chips and can continue making money then just pay the fines etc and still come out money ahead. AMD is starting to really hurt thier profits so Intel is trying to pave the way for them to increase thier money by any means required.
