Processor speed doesn't matter much
by bobby_brady December 13, 2005 4:55 PM PST
for the general user. I remember back in the 90's when I looked forward to reading about Intel and AMD's new chips. Back then just running a word processor such as AMI Pro required a decent 486.

Now you can do practically all general purpose work on a entry level PC. Games will require more horsepower but the fact is, processor speed is becoming less and less of a factor issue with PC's.

I think the apple crowd is waiting on baited breath to see what/if
Steve Jobs will pull a dual-core powerbook out of his magical hat.
Apple has many creative professionals especially in video editing
that would love a mobile editing system that is faster than the
current G4 laptops.
