But I still would buy an AMD over Intel any time. Even for a notebook. No, I don't want to hear anything about a PowerBook.

You're right. The $64 price was too low - it's actually $643.

I thought that the AMD DCs were better than the Intel ones. But it seems largly the same with separate cache. All that is shared is the memory controller, and I don't see that as an advantage.
