has announced the start of a carbon nanotube memory that can possibly hold a million up to abillion terrabits of data in a single cubic centimeter 3D chip. That beakthrough is currently on our drawing board. Vulvox is also researching batteries containg carbon nanotubes that store 3000mA/hour roughly ten times the amount of energy stored by conventional lithium ion batteries constructed with graphite anodes. Interconnect delay

Studies have shown that interconnect RC delay gets worse for larger chips. An alternative to this would be stacking chips(like Samsung is doing for 4 Gb OneNAND Flash memory).
