Explorer 7 Crashes System
by Greg5A February 16, 2007 6:31 AM PST
I bought a new computer less than two months ago.
Shortly afterwards, IE7 was installed on my system through a Windows Update.

Since then, my XP Pro system has crashed twice and the operating system was so badly damaged that Hewlett-Packard (HP) tech support had to do a "destructive restore" that wiped all my user-installed software and files off my system.

It happened again yesterday. HP tech support said the problem is being caused by IE7 and that I should delete it from my system and use IE6, which they consider safe.

This mess with IE7 has cost me hours and hours of work to reinstall software, get drivers, and reinstall all my work files from backups.

Shame on Microsoft for releasing this buggy software!
