It is 8:48pm in Kazoo Michigan and I still keep getting bounced to the MobileMe page that describes how great it is. How would i know? I still can't get in.

I've got the new iDisk icon and the silly little cloud logo, but that's the extent of it. No service. Perhaps if I owned an iPhone things would actually work. That's what all this mobileme nonsense is designed for.
From what I understand, Apple makes a pretty good telephone. Wish they would address their computers with a fraction of that enthusiasm. Worst thing that ever happened to Apple was that damned iPod. Before that, they were a very cool computer company.

I still have no access in Chicago. I get an error message. I tried reentering my password and it doesn't recognize my name or password. There is no link for a forgotten password. I relogged into iChat and it accepted my password for my .mac address.

9:55 PM Eastern in New Jersey- I *briefly* managed to get in around 6 PM, but the infamous "Server Error" message appeared and .Me was no more.

I'm currently getting the "splash page" when I go to .me telling me how great the service is. Right.

Interesting note: there was a software update for .Me that was pushed through to one of my Macs at about 5 PM. My other Mac did not receive the push, nor can the download be manually accessed via Software Update. What gives? IS there software, or was that push premature? I'm thoroughly confused and frustrated at this point.

11:40 EST New Jersey (again)- I was briefly able to access Mobile Me for all of 5 minutes before their servers went down again and re-directed me to the "Mobile Me Is So Wonderful" page again.

I am *not* a happy camper.

UPDATE: I am no longer able to sign into .Mac as well as not receiving Mobile Me.

Why do I get the feeling Apple is becoming the new Microsoft?

I haven't been able to access my web based .mac mail since last night. I was able to get a mobile me login page only twice today, then it mysteriously disappeared and all I could get was the promotional page.

A genius on a web forum suggested setting up a gmail account and having my .mac messages rerouted there, and that has saved me.

The most frustrating thing is, no warning from Apple that the system would be down at all, and now explanation from them anywhere about what is going on and how long we should expect this to take. This is a big snafu and I'm guessing some heads are rolling in Cupertino.

I agree. Mac has been AMAZING for years, but the more they go out to recruit PC members, the weirder they've gotten. NOT having access to your mac.com account for 24 hours?! Crazy! I have my Mail icon, but it doesn't consistently allow me to SEND mail. I can read, but NOT respond. I agree that it is unbelievably irresponsible for Mac.com to NOT give us warnings about not having email for 24 hours. It is JUST WEIRD! Hopefully, It will be up and running by the time the Iphone 3G comes out tomorrow. I was going to get one, but am a little ticked OFF by this entire thing.

San Francisco, 9:30 PM, me.com worked for about 10 minutes and is redirecting to the marketing page again. It was down all day today for me. My work around was setting up an additional mailbox in outlook using IMAP, could receive, but not send.

I have not been able to access my email at mac.com or me.com for over 24 hours. The only thing that shows up is a maintenance message. I chatted on line with mac support and they said they had no idea when things would be up and running.

I have to wonder how far along they are with sorting out problems.
My .Mac gallery and .Mac personal websites are all up and still on .MAC.

Still down here 5:15am CST in Louisiana. My .Mac System Status widget shows iDIsk green, Back to My Mac green, and Sync green. Webpages and Mail are both yellow. However, Mail is somewhat working, or seems to be. I've seen a few strange things when I check mail like unusually long times, a few beach balls, and what appears to be an entire refresh of the mail box. I kept my system status up most of the day yesterday (Thursday). I did not watch it all day but I did notice every now and then it would flicker and colors would change around then go back to the state they were in previously.

Site down all day Thursday July 10 in Maine. Friday morning, July 11, site barely crawling. I lost 24+ hours of email use. No business. There is better press coverage of this fiasco in Europe than U.S. Typical Apple response: NO RESPONSE. Because the problem is Mac centric, it is forgiven. If it affected worldwide Microsoft users instead, it would result in major AP stories.

Still sporadic service here in NJ; and don't expect things to get any better. I'm just making a logical assumption that because of all the fuss with the new iPhone, Apple servers will probably be at their breaking point for most of the day.

And you guys are right, there is *very* little press coverage of this fiasco. I just did a search for news stories about this on the web, and there is very little information out there. Smells like an effective news blackout to me.

I've had intermittent problems since Thursday, July 10. It is now Friday 12pm, CST, and I still cannot consistently log in to access all of the pages. The pages never completely load. I've had Safari crash a couple of times. I don't mind growing pains, but I expect Mail to at least work. I'm not sure that all of my email messages are coming through successfully. I'm not pleased with this process. Maybe Apple should have made the move over a weekend instead of during a normal work week?

Still unable to access email at mac.com. Now get the opening page at me.com but am not able to access email. It just accesses the intro to me.com and the me.com guided tour. This is really a sad situation. Still no word from apple on when things will be up and running.Have resorted to setting up and using a new email at yahoo for my consulting business. I would like to stay with mac but can no longer wait.
