In the long run, Red Hat will have to be subsumed into a large company--most likely IBM.

It would be cool if PC makers would buy Linux companies or take over the development of various distros. Like IBM buying Red Hat. Then all they need to do is make like Apple and convert it into a widely-usable desktop OS and stop paying Microsoft for licenses.

1. IBM will make an offer.
2. RH will decline it.
3. Oracle buys RH.
