It's not a great sign but it's a good sign that at least companies are pushing foward with projects instead of halting them all together which if I remember is usually the first signs in a recovery hopefully it will continue and not retract in the long run.

yeah but look at this way you have to cross 10 hurdles instead of 5 to get contract jobs. I mean you keep trying but listing of requirement going up & up to get 3-4 months contract job. In short to get 3 months contract job you have to spend 2 months or sometime more to get one.

not sure it is recovery or downhill

This is great! I prefer contract gigs. You get paid for overtime, and if you can get benefits through a spouse, you are easily making $10-20k+ over the full timers. Why someone thinks they have "job security" as a full timer in this day and age, I honestly don't know.

I agree with "Joe Force". I've been working as a consultant since 1992 and let me tell you this: I will never accept a full-time offer again. I do get all benefits through my wife as well and yes, it is really good to look at my manager and others and think "I make more money than you do!!!".
As far as "job security"? there's no such thing. You will be laid off whether you are a full timer or a consultant. Bottom line? get benefits from your spouse and work as a contractor; you will never regret!

Really! I am agreed with it because it's a very fabulous way of earning money at home as well as it is very helpful for our growth. I think it's a good source of learning also it can be a part time or full time based it depends on the person that till what time does he/she works. Great post i look forward to reading more.
