Actually, I think Silicon Valley is one of the sectors of the American economy that is least likely to feel any repercussions from the problems in the wider economy. Why? Computer stuff is at a bargain basement value today, to the point where I think it is the best value in a long time.

It might be tough for some, but IMO companies like Microsoft (in OSs), Google (in Internet products), and Apple (in iPods) will continue having great revenue and being the leaders in their respective markets of expertise.

well... just a note of caution to google and et el
I was reading a book 'The logic of life' by Tim Hartford (www.timhartford.com)
where he mentions of a proffessor, who developing Van Neumons game theory to practical
game strategy of poker, succeeds in becoming a world champ by following what he theorized
as - even when you have a strong hand, not being aggressive - helps you eventually !
