I think this is just done on purpose so CIA can tap lines further speeding the capture of data and pin pointing the location.

There's a book called Breakpoint that has a freakishly similar plot in the story-line, only it happens to the west. Maybe someone's playing copycat.

Statistically impossible that this was not done on purpose. This is being done for a reason. Brace yourself.

Let's see:
Many of the world's data centers and call centers are located in India.
The traffic must now be rerouted through indirect hubs.
China knows a lot about monitoring, Russia knows a lot about hacking.

cable cuts are fairly common, last december south east asia experienced the same problem, it was because of an undersea quake and the fact that the supposedly alternative and redundant connections were only really a few miles apart.

Sorry, not a coincidence. Iran was supposed to open up their Oil Bourse (Oil Exchange) based on the Euro this week (Feb. 1-11). The US has been scared of this happening since Saddam Husein tried it back in the early 90's (looking for sources). This would devalue the dollar since the only 3 existing oil exchanges are based on the greenback.

Iran's main router is now completely cutoff from the internet. Ah, not early 90's, sorry, it was in August 2000, when Saddam met with Venuzuala's Chavez about trading oil using the Euro. It's all coming to a head, folks. We won't be able to keep the internet turned off forever. :) Cutting communications is a pre-emptive act of war, by the way.

Interesting, no ships were reported in the area of the damage, 12 hours before to 12 hours after. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7222536.stm

Still a coincidence?

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/theworld/2008/February/theworld_February77.xml&section=theworld&col
