Save the planet--stop cow belching

A Swedish university received a grant to study one of the biggest threats to the environment--cow belching. The study will measure the amount of methane gas that is released through a cow's mouth and determine how much gas is produced by different kinds of feed. The release of methane gas into the Earth's atmosphere is considered one of the main causes of global warming. A group in Canada is also conducting a similar study.

Who is going to get the grant to study the amount of gas passed by people. That study should be worth a big grant of wasted money. So many ways to get the tax payers money. I will have to give a lot of creative credit to the designers of this type of projects.

Here we go again. In the 90's it was a study of cow flatulence. Apparently that didn't go anywhere so we're trying the other end of the animal.

So, now these learned folk have discovered that cows don't fart a lot. Do you suppose they will discover that cows don't belch a lot? One of the problems with cows is that they can't belch when they "bloat" from eating too much of a changed diet. They will often die if someone doesn't "plug" them with a sharp knife on the upper left side behind the rib cage, about a foot down from the back bone. This releases the gas and saves the cow. A small wound will heal fairly quickly.
