This is Netflix on Silverlight

by Rafe Needleman

Scott Guthrie, GM of platform development at Microsoft, gave a talk targeted at developers here at the Mix 07 conference (which is, frankly, all targeted at developers). Here's the takeaway from his talk for Web users: HD-quality streaming video, as well as "DVD-like interactivity and overlays."

Guthrie quickly handed off his talk to Netflix for a demo we've been waiting for, by Neil Hunt of Netflix and Darin Brown of Avenue A/Razorfish. Check out the video:

by xxdesmusxx April 30, 2007 6:29 PM PDT
You should offer the video using a silverlight-based player just in honor of the technology. :)

Completely off topic, I am using Firefox v2.0.0.4pre nightlies and Silverlight refuses to install.

Things gotta work for everyone in this day and age, can't believe people are still
only making things work on PCs. Anybody know when/if this is going to be
available for mac? Also when it will be streaming in HD? Thanks
