3G iPhone in the flesh?

by Dan Farber

CrunchGear has a spread on what appears to be the new 3G iPhone. Matt Hickey wrote in CrunchGear:

It's thinner than the current model, for sure, with a more MacBook Air-like bezeling. It's got stereo speakers on the back and what appears to be the same screen as the current generation. But the real news here isn't the Exchange support, but the front facing camera for iChat AV.

According to CrunchGear the new iPhone will come in red, supporting the Product Red campaign.

More here from CrunchGear.

Stay tuned for CNET News.com's Tom Krazit's live coverage from Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference and CEO Steve Jobs' unveiling of the iPhone that will be coveted by every current iPhone user.

I REALLY want to believe that these pics are real but people have been pointing out some obvious flaws...like how the Red iPhone doesn't have the power/sleep button on it. >_<

No need to come off like a complete ******. As for Apple software coming to a Windows PC...that would never happen right? Oh wait...Quicktime, iTunes, Safari...the next logical step would be iChat (at some point.)

1. The photo does show a front-facing camera.

2. *Than* to let some unshaven thwacked-looking ***** be the model...

Other than that i agree, it's a blatant fake as the photos show the ad in an editing program.

This is getting crazy. Speculation abounds. CNBC is coming accross like the new 3g iPhone will save the US economy. Will people realy spend another 500 to $700 for a unlocked 3g iPhone. I wouldnt. Unless I were rich. What if they wait to release until the next MacWorld. As this site said. Apple dosnt or havnt approved many developers for SDK. Sitting around the Cafe-Iphone waiting. We will see

These are fake.. if they weren't.. Apple would make sure the pics were down by now.

Also.. the camera will be in the front and back... that's how conferencing will be done.

it looks real to me! because as you guys can see, there is a front facing camera on it...if you look really close on the top right corner of the phone...there is a camera there!!! If these were the real thing, it looks pretty nice thou..definitely looks more appealing to me than the previous one...can't wait to get my hands on one of these.....

how can you say that this picture looks real? the lack of a sleep button on the red phone doesn't give it away to you

@TheWiiKid

Will people pay $199 for an iPhone through at&t? Sure they will.

I always thought/knew that iChat AV would be the next logical app from OS X to be ported to Windows. Sounds like good news.

Yahoo News's Mark Long posted : "A recent Apple patent application suggests the new iPhone may offer support for voice-activated commands, instant messaging, and GPS navigation. Others speculate that Apple may take the current iPhone's multimedia focus to the next level by adding video chat."

I doubt the new one will be thinner and I think the pic here is a mock up. BUT who knows. ...

I have some inside information. the iPhone will come with only one back facing camera, however it will come with a device called an iMirror that can be used to turn the back camera into a virtual front facing camera.

I have also heard roomers that the iPhone II may not come with voice chat, or that voice chat will require a software upgrade.

the pics are so fake... there isn't any eye candy on the "swap/end" buttons and it when you on call with people the persons name is at the top of the screen, not the bottom.

I wish this stupid phone would just come out so those who want one can get one. The rest of us will continue to ignore it and buy what works for us.

so since htc and windows mobile were the first to include videochat with their phones doesn't this make the iphone a copy cat of htc as does it's touchscreen which was first utilized by htc a long ass time ago right... oh does that rule only pertain to the iphone.
