The Federal Economic Stimulus program checks are in the mail. When you get yours try and be a good consumer and spend it right away. That'll help our economy and remember the checks will do the most good if they're spent on made in America products. One of my favorite high-value, high-end audio brands, Outlaw Audio, would be a good place to start. Its multi-channel home theater power amplifiers are in fact proudly made in the USA. These would be great comments, which I would strongly agree with, if they were posted to a financial responsibility blog.
But read the title: "High-end audio blog".
And as Steve points out, these are "high value" products, quite affordable when compared to other products in this category. It's not like he was telling everyone to use the stimulus payments as a down payment on a McIntosh Amp, and finance the rest.

burtonjunky...I totally agree with you! I wish people would just stick to the topic, ITS A AUDIOPHILE BLOG PEOPLE! I dont care about a lesson in economics 101, its just a little harmless fantasizing about how to spend your refund check. On another topic of this blog, some guy was complaining about the GRAMMAR that the the author used, and how he needed to use commas properly! There seems to be lot of cranky people out there with a whole lot of time on their hands! But I also agree that Outlaw Audio is a GREAT place to get some seriously high-end audio for a great price. My brother bought one of their subs, and it is incredible for the money. It actually rivals my considerably more expensive sub...not quite, but it certanly hold it's own. They're a great company, and as the author says "Buy American!".

I'm sorry, Steve, but your nationalistic logic isn't as hot as your audio sense. You might as well tell people to use their stimulus checks on Chinese audio gear. It's China, after all, that by buying US debt for the past decade has kept the great American 24-hour consumption machine going! If you don't buy their audio gear, they can't buy our Treasury bills. If they stop underwriting our debt. . .well, everyone here knows what a needle dragged across an LP sounds like.
