Fact: HTC will hold a press conference in London tomorrow (May 6) to make an announcement that will highlight the "next wave of HTC innovation." Rumor: the company is expected to introduce the HTC Touch Diamond, the next-gen HTC Touch, as well as a couple of other possible smartphones. Now, we're not really ones to gossip but chances are fairly good that the Touch Diamond will, in fact, show its pretty face tomorrow.

The rumors have been swirling around the blogosphere for a couple of weeks now, but just last week HTC executive Cheng Hui-ming confirmed the existence of the Diamond to the Taipei Times, and today Engadget Mobile got ahold of some leaked images and specs to further fuel the fire. The quad-band Diamond is said to be a Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone with a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; HSDPA; a 3.2-megapixel camera; 4GB of internal flash memory; and a orientation sensor/accelerometer, among other things. As a Touch series device, presumably it will also feature the TouchFlo interface and if these pictures are to believed, then yowza--looking good. In the Taipei Times article, Cheng also called the Diamond "the most important product for HTC this year." Geez, no pressure there.

The other reported smartphones are the HTC Raphael/HTC Touch Pro, a replacement for HTC Mogul for Sprint and the HTC Touch Dual Pro, a refresh to the HTC Touch Dual, which we're just getting in the United States. The Boy Genius Report has a few more details on these devices. All of it seems to leading up to a very exciting day tomorrow, so be sure to check back as we'll report on the news.
