Because bikers need distractions too

Why should car drivers be the only ones to enjoy watching video on the road? As cyclists acquire more rights, they should also be able to distract themselves as effectively as their motorist counteparts.

The "iPhone Bike Mount" is supposedly designed to make it easier to control the device for music and phone controls on handlebars, but we fear that it might simply add to the growing list of eye-averting gadgetry that has made commuting a multi-tasking adventure for many afflicted with dangerously short attention spans. The bracket can rotate 360 degrees so the screen can be seen at any angle desired for optimal viewing of the iPhone, media player, or any other device that will fit in its adjustable arms. Just be ready with an excuse in case you get into an accident.

Yeah, the way it's being promoted and talked about is a bit strange. I started looking for an iPhone bike mount today for use with GPS-enabled apps like iTrail in order to track route, distance, altitude, etc., but this particular product attempt doesn't make me feel too safe. I can just see my iPhone popping out and crashing to the asphalt in a million pieces....

I bought this to use during indoor training as a convenient way to watch videos while on the rollers. Unfortunately, the mounting bracket is much too small to install it on my bars, so it's quite useless for me.

Be warned: unless you're installing it on a bare bar (and a rather small one at that) you'll have problems. It's too small for mounting on a stem or on a bar over bar tape or cables.

I have been using a product from www.iBikePak.com, it is a bike pack that mounts to the stem and cross bar and allows me to use my touchscreen while riding

COMPLETE PIECE OF JUNK!!!! It WILL NOT HOLD!

Out of the box I tried to snap in the iPhone. The thing just clicks out (to the point that you can remove the iphone by hand easily). If you bounce the mount, the phone pops out!

If you value your $300 investment, DO NOT risk losing it to a $20 mount.
