Magnets keep iPod with (and on) you 24/7

This is a must-have accessory for the music lover who can't stand to be apart from the iPod but doesn't have any pockets. The "iStik" is a plastic case with four magnets that attaches to a corresponding set mounted on a plastic plate that goes underneath your clothes, so you can literally wear the player.

How much of a demand is there for something like this? We have no idea, but it's probably not a good sign that the iStik is available only for the second-generation Nano, as iLounge says. You could also get a case with an armband or clip, of course, but that would be too easy. Just be careful where you place it if you have a pacemaker.

Their 3rd generation case will be available in May. I know iStik cases for other devices are going to be available soon too. I think the iPhone, the touch, and the Zune are on their to-do list. I workout at the same gym that the owner does in San Diego. Cool product.

My ipod arm band is so uncomfortable and can't stand wearing it much anymore. I can see using this at the gym.

What is the advisability of putting what seem to be fairly strong magnets near a hard drive? I'm just askin'

The nano doesn't have a hard drive like the large iPods. It has a flash drive and those are resistant to being affected by magnets. But your right, magnets can erase memory on a hard drive.
