So you've managed to get your hands on one of the world's most popular MP3 players, the Apple iPod. The device on its own will keep you plenty entertained for sure, but you'll soon realize there's a lot more fun to be had if you move beyond the confines of what comes in the box. To that end, we've created a one-stop-spot for all the aftermarket gear that can help you take full advantage of your player. Whether you're interested in an alarm set-up to coax you out of bed with your favorite tunes, or a solution for securing your device during calorie-burning activities, you'll find it at our new iPod accessories home page. And for those of you who jam to a different drummer (i.e. a non-iPod MP3 player), take heed: plenty of universal and "made for" Sansa/Walkman/Zen/Zune accessories will be included as well.

For more than five years, Jasmine France has covered a variety of tech products for CNET--from scanners to keyboards to GPS devices--but she's happiest where she is now: sitting atop a pile of MP3 players, "testing" every music service known to man, and jamming a variety of earbuds in every shape and color into her absurdly small ears. E-mail Jasmine.

Sorry...this qualifies as a big WHATEVER

iPod accessories are EVERYWHERE, sold by just about any retailer one can think of. Big Yawner. Besides, iPod-dedicated sites like ilounge.com already do an excellent job on reporting about the entire iPod ecosystem. What's REALLY NEEDED are reviews and reporting on the first and third-party apps, accessories and all the rest for all the rest of the PDP world.

What about accessories for other mp3 players?

I think the Creative Zen players are great players, better the iPod. Creative invented the interface, of which they own the patent. Apple stole it from them for use on the iPod and Creative gets no recogintion.

As a result of this, very few accessories are made for the ZEN and that's not fair. For example, their is no ZEN dock clock.

Stop making everything iPod and start making ZEN accessories.
